What should I consider when getting a first tattoo?Spend time researching styles, artists, and imagery you like. Think about what your end goals of tattooing are. Do you want a bodysuit eventually? Do you like patchwork tattooing or full cohesive backgrounds? Do you enjoy black and grey or color? Are you in a profession or aspiring to be a part of a profession where visible tattoos are accepted? Does this tattoo make for timeless imagery? How do i see myself in 20 years wearing this imagery? Asking yourself these questions can sometimes help to shed light on what it is that truly sparks your interest in tattoos. Whether big or small, the permanence of tattoos should not go overlooked.

Will I get to see the tattoo design before our tattoo appointment?Currently, I do not send any art out before the appointment date. I will show you the tattoo art the day of the appointment. The initial drawing and one redraft is included in the price of the tattoo. If a redrafting is needed, the initial appointment will be rescheduled at no extra cost. Any further redrawing after the included redrafting of the design will result in deposit forfeiture, and a new deposit will be needed to reschedule the appointment.

What if I don't like the design? The initial drawing and one redraft is included in the price of the tattoo. If a redrafting is needed, the initial appointment will be rescheduled at no extra cost. Any further redrawing after the included redrafting of the design will result in deposit forfeiture, and a new deposit will be needed to reschedule the appointment.
-
Can I get a tattoo before turning 18 with parental permission?I will not tattoo minors, with or without parental consent.
-
Are there tattoos you will not do?Each tattoo request I receive is evaluated individually, and I will take on only projects that best suit my style and technical abilities. I do not feel as though I am the right artist for every job, but am happy to make recommendations for other artists that I think will align with your goals if the project does not seem to fit with my values or ideas.
-
Will you do cover ups?Yes! However, not every tattoo is a good candidate for covering. In general, a cover up will be at minimum twice the size of the original tattoo, and the options for coverup design will also be more limited. I generally recommend the new tattoo to be in full color, as well as having a reasonable expectation of what is possible. When sending a tattoo request, please attach a photo of the tattoo you wish to have covered!

How can i best prepare for my new tattoo? When getting a new tattoo, I recommend: -Getting a good nights sleep -Eating before the appointment -Shower -Avoid excess caffeine (a coffee in the morning is okay, stay away from energy drinks) -Stay hydrated, bring a water bottle! -Bring or order a lunch/ snacks -Bring sugary drinks (gatorade, soda, etc.) -Wear comfortable clothes/shoes DO NOT: -be under the influence of drugs/alcohol -come in hungover -make plans immediately following your appointment (take the day off after getting tattooed, you earned it)
-
What should I wear to my tattoo appointment?Wear clean, comfortable, loose fitting clothes. I recommend wearing clothes that you are okay with becoming stained, tattooing is messy and the ink does not wash out of clothing. For large scale backs, and more revealing places, I always recommend wearing something that is easily moved/manipulated in order to for me to tattoo the area withought clothing being in the way. A bath robe and a pair of loose fitting shorts, or bikini bottoms that are able to be untied on the side is always a a safe bet.
-
Can I bring a family member/friend to my tattoo appointment?Yes you can, however, I recommend any guests to stop by midway through the tattoo for a short visit. I do not recommend having a guest for the entire duration of the tattoo. It can be distracting both to the artists, as well as the client getting tattooed. Tattooing takes a lot of focus and energy both from the artist and client, and in my experience having a guest for the duration of a long tattoo can add another variable of stress to the client receiving the tattoo. Please limit visitors to one at a time to allow for more space in the tattoo station!
-
How much notice should I give before rescheduling/cancelling a tattoo appointment? As much time as possible please! My policy is 72 hours notice of a scheduling change to avoid deposit forfeiture. If notice is given with less than 72 hours, the deposit for your tattoo session will become null and void. I allow 2 reschedules with proper notice, before the deposit is forfeited and a new deposit will required to reschedule. Please see the Deposit Policy for more information.
-
What if i no call no show?Failure to provide notice of absence from a tattoo session will automatically result in deposit forfeiture, Please see the Deposit Policy for further information.
-
Can my deposit be transferred to another person/family member/friend?Deposits are non-transferable.

Can I use Numbing Cream for my tattoo appointment?I understand that getting a tattoo can be a painful experience for some individuals. While I am open to clients using numbing cream in certain situations, I do not generally recommend it due to potential complications. Most numbing creams, especially those made specifically for tattoos, contain lidocaine (for pain relief) and epinephrine (to keep the lidocaine localized and make it work longer). Unfortunately, epinephrine also causes the blood vessels on the surface of the skin to constrict, potentially affecting the quality of the tattoo and making it more difficult for the artist to work. Furthermore, using numbing cream may also mask the pain that serves as an important indicator for both the client and the artist during the tattooing process. If you have more questions about numbing cream during the tattoo process, please ask during your tattoo consultation!

How can I book a Tattoo Appointment?Due to high demand, I only open my bookings for new projects once or twice a year. When booking is open, please fill out a Tattoo Request form on the "Get Tattooed" page of my website. I will be in touch with everyone who submits a form, even if your project is not selected for that round of booking. Please note: Filling out a request form does not guarantee you a consultation or tattoo appointment.

I sent a tattoo inquiry but my project was not selected. Tips for getting an appointment when books open?I specialize in Neo Japanese and Japanese traditional tattooing. If your tattoo style does not fall into these categories, it may have been passed over in favor of projects that align more with my art style. Tattoo cover ups, or existing tattoos in the area that have to be worked around can also factor into my decision to take a project on or not.
-
Will you rework Tattoos done by other artists?I do not currently take on any projects that require reworking tattoos not done by me.
-
What is your preferred payment method for tattoo appointments?Cash is King!
-
Do you have a waitlist?Currently I do not have a waiting list! Books generally open once or twice a year, and wait times to get tattooed are usually 6 to 8 months!
